Tour One: Beijing Walking Tour
Our main route is the perfect introduction to Beijing. You’ll start near Houhai Lake and walk through the old hutongs (traditional Beijing neighborhoods) and along scenic Houhai Lake. You’ll take a morning tea break in an atmospheric local teahouse overlooking the lake and then stroll down to Jingshan Hill to take in the incredible view over the city. After admiring the view, you’ll have lunch in an elegant northern Chinese restaurant or a boisterous Cantonese eatery.
After lunch, you will make your way to the Forbidden City, the single most impressive sight in all of Beijing. After a leisurely tour of the Forbidden City, you will enter the vast expanse of Tiananmen Square and see the Great Hall of the People, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, and the National Museum. Time permitting, you can then continue to the Temple of Heaven, another of Beijing’s unforgettable sights.
This is just one of the many routes we offer. We can also work with you to create a truly custom tour that takes into account your special interests and preferences. Just let us know what you want, and we’ll go from there.
